Taught by Julie Gudmestad, PT (ret), E-RYT 500, Certified Yoga Therapist
By popular demand, we return to the topic of head, neck, and shoulder anatomy and alignment in Yoga. After a review of important points covered in Part 1, we will focus on applying that information to standing poses. We’ll spend most of our class time in asana practice, with emphasis on incorporating alignment cues to reduce neck discomfort in common standing poses. An anatomy handout is provided, and there are questions at the end.
We recommend that students have at least one year of Yoga experience, and know the basic standing poses. This is not a therapeutics class, and is not appropriate for anyone with an acute neck injury or severely limited mobility.
