Taught by Julie Gudmestad, PT (ret), E-RYT 500, Certified Yoga Therapist
We humans use our hands and wrists all day long in our household activities, keyboard work, and of course in yoga poses when we bear weight on our arms. In this class, we’ll look at the anatomy and optimal alignment of these important joints, and how to protect them from strain. Then we’ll practice yoga poses with weight bearing on the arms, with special focus on set-up and props to keep the hands, wrists, and fingers happy. You will have ongoing access to this recording.
An anatomy handout will be provided, and we’ll allow time for questions at the end.
We recommend that students have at least one year of Yoga experience, and know the basic standing poses. This is not a therapeutics class, and is not appropriate for anyone with an acute neck injury or severely limited mobility.
Props: mat, blanket, 2 blocks, and strap
