Balancing Hip Flexors and Hamstrings with Stuart Stark, PT

Staying away from low back pain is a challenge that we all face, especially in our sedentary society. Maintaining hamstring and hip flexor length plays a pivotal role in how much burden we place on the lumbar spine. Finding ways to retain both the flexibility and strength of these muscles that connect the legs to the torso enable us to keep the low back out of trouble. These two key muscle groups also allow us to expand our yoga practice safely. We will work on isolating these muscles and finding yoga poses where they play a vital part.

This class is not a therapeutic practice and is not intended for students with acute injuries or significant mobility challenges.
